Service Description

Research by Hannah Williamson at UTAustin reveals that relationship success during the pandemic was largely predicted by communication skills. Whether or not couples struggled since the pandemic, there was certainly more “togetherness” than ever before for many families. Even married couples who would work from home prior to the pandemic were forced to also educate their children during that time. Communication rose to the awareness of many families in a way not seen in recent history. The Bible gives us many guidelines for successful family communication…and social science backs up the validity of those guidelines. This faith-based presentation blends faith with research and covers: · Listening (Ecclesiastes 3:7; James 1:19; Philippians 2:3-4)) · Silence (Proverbs 13:3; 1 Kings 19:12; Ephesians 4:29) · Nagging (Proverbs 21:9) · Language choices (Ecclesiastes 10:12; Matthew 15:11; Mark 10:9; Psalm 103:13) · Gratitude (Philippians 2:14) · Expectations (Proverbs 13:12; Juke 12:40)
